Rakhi and greeting card making competition by Dainik Jagran
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan , Rakhi making competition was held for classes III to XII by Dainik Jagran. On 13August the students of our school made beautiful rakhis and cards depicting their love and care for soldiers who safeguard our borders and sacrifice their lives for our country .Their heart rending effort was much appreciated.

INTER SCHOOL RECITATION COMPETITION
An Inter School Recitation competition was held on 12 August 2010 in the Montessori Wing. Thirteen schools participated in it. With beautiful props, confidence in their mind and smiles on their faces the children from classes nursery, prep., class I and class II recited the patriotic poems. The Principal Mrs. Indu Shastri, applauded the talent, hard work and confidence of each child. She said that “Each child was a winner”. The Chairman Mr. S.K.Trehan gave away the prizes. The function ended with the National Anthem.

WINTER CARNIVAL
Winter Carnival was held on 14 Feb 10 in the Senior Wing of the School. School children enjoyed playing numerous games at the various game stalls and had their fill at a large variety of sumptuous and mouth watering food available at the food stalls. It was a pleasure to see the young enthusiasts dressed in beautiful attires compete in the Baby Show and the Fancy Dress Competition which was the big attraction of the day. Many exciting rides were enjoyed by the children. The draw of lots took place at the end making the carnival a grand success.

Republic Day
Republic Day was celebrated in the school premises on 25 Jan 2010. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the tricolor national flag by the Principal – Ms. Indu Shastri. The students of class VI had put up a skit on the narrow barriers of caste and gender that still haunt the Indian terrain even after 60 years of India being a republic. The pupils also danced on a patriotic song and made the feeling of patriotism come alive to one and all. The principal announced ‘Each one Teach one ‘as the major project of the school for the session 2010 – 2011.

EXTENSION OF SCHOOL WINTER VACATION
In accordance with the directive of the Haryana Govt, the School will remain closed for Classes M-I to V till 10th Jan 2010. Timings for Classes VI to XII for 7th & 8th Jan 2010 will be from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Buses will ply accordingly. Unit test for Classes III to XII will be held on 11th Jan 2010. Regular school timings will be followed for all the Classes from 11th Jan 2010.

ANNUAL FUNCTION
Conserve, nurture and maintain the balance of the Five Elements, the Panchatattva bestowed upon Man was the theme of the Annual Function of American Public School held on December 05, 2009 in the Senior Wing of the School. The function started with the lighting of the lamp and the recital of the shlokas. Students of class IX dressed in the colours of each of the elements introduced the five elements through a well choreographed dance sequence. It was followed by a wide array of programmes based on each of the five elements namely Earth, Water, Air, Fire & Space. The Montessori tiny tots dressed in their vibrant costumes presented items based on Earth, Air while the senior school students presented skit song & dances on Fire, Space & enthralled the audience. The Principal Mrs. Indu Shastri read out the school Annual Report and informed the audience about the progress of the school. The Vote of Thanks was given by the Chairman, Mr. S.K. Trehan who lauded the sincerest and dedicated efforts of the students and staff members in presenting a wonderful show.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Creativity and imagination have no limitations. This was perceptible in the Annual Exhibition organized by the school in the senior wing on 31.10.09. The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the school Mr. S.K. Trehan. The exhibits of all the subjects were displayed in a very orderly and attractive manner. From Incredible India to the World of Science, from Strings of Indian Music to the Conglomeration of Languages, every corner was drawing attention. The children truly came out with their best to present their ideas with great clarity and confidence. They explained their minds to every visitor and answered to all their queries. The parents were overwhelmed with joy seeing the great effort on the part of the children, under the guidance of the teachers. There was a spark of appreciation in each eye. The principal Mrs. Indu Shastri congratulated the staff and the students for their excellent team work in displaying a wonderful amalgamation of knowledge and creativity.

EXTENSION OF SUMMER VACATIONS
In accordance with the directive of the Haryana Govt, due to intense heat, school vacations have been extended to Sunday, 05 Jul 2009. The School will now reopen on Monday, 06 Jul 2009 after the Summer vacations.

CBSE X Board Results
The School Management congratulates the students, teachers and parents for the excellent Class X CBSE board results 2009. Toppers of the School (Aggregate) 1st Sanya Malik - 90.8%, 2nd Karan Dua - 87.6%, 3rd Alisha Mathew - 86.6%. Subject Wise Highest Marks English - 92% (Alisha Mathew & Anya Joshi), Hindi - 87% (Ankita Choudhary), Maths - 95% (Karan Dua), Science - 92% (Sunny Rhode), Social Science - 94% (Sanya Malik), Sanskrit - 93% (Sanya Malik).

Introduction

American Public School was established in 1995 in DLF City Phase-II, to impart quality education imbibing Montessori Philosophy and methodology along with traditional education. It is a co-educational English medium school affiliated to C.B.S.E. and running systematically on the 10+2 C.B.S.E. pattern.
