31-12-1969 Annual Day Senior Wing
The Senior Wing of the American Public School, Gurgaon, celebrated its seventh Annual Day on the 3rd of December, 2011. The extravagant in-house production, which was based on the concept of Navras…shades of human emotion, was held in the school premises. The aim was to showcase the play of moods in the human mind. Today, when man is so caught up in mundane affairs of life, the event was a welcome break to introspect and interpret, and the invitees enjoyed the display of emotions through a medley of portrayals. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and was followed by the address of the Founder Director, Ms. Lalita Trehan and the Annual Report was read by the Principal, Ms. Indu Shastri who recounted the achievements of the students of the school. The opening ceremony was a display of all the nine emotions- Veer, Shringaar, Haasya, Vibhatsya, Bhayanak, Raudra, Shaant, Karuna and Adbhyut. These emotions were then portrayed individually through tableaus, contemporary dance, classical dance, recitation, ballet, skit, etc. The event ended on a positive note depicted through a dance drama. The Chief Guest, Padmashree Dr. Shyam Singh Shashi, an eminent litterateur, was impressed and said that all of mankind should have the strength to control the emotions and not let any of them overpower us. He also stressed on the need to read books. Chairman Mr. S. K. Trehan gave the vote of thanks.
