American Montessori Public School (AMPS) was established in 1995 in Gurgaon, Haryana by Mrs. Lalita Trehan, a passionate Montessorian and Mr. Surinder Trehan, a dynamic engineer and entrepreneur. The motto of our school is encapsulated in the phrase “where children are important”, and indeed, we strive to ensure that our students’ natural curiosity and love of learning is forever cherished and strengthened.
Today, AMPS is an established CBSE Affiliated Senior Secondary school bearing a proud legacy of imparting quality education for over 27 years. Centrally located in the heart of Gurgaon at the intersection of MG Road and NH-8 (near IFFCO Chowk), the School is spread over two campuses in L-Block, DLF Phase II. The first of its kind, the school imbibes an authentic Montessori philosophy and method for its early childhood education programme. It then builds upon a progressive CBSE system which incorporates both project-based and thematic learning. At the Senior Secondary level, all three pre-professional streams - science (medical and non-medical), commerce and humanities - along with a number of electives, enable our students to make their choice in preparation for a broad spectrum of career options.
Both our Junior and Senior wing campuses have large, well-ventilated classrooms where we have maintained an optimum student-teacher ratio to enable greater student interaction and participation. The team at AMPS consists of experienced, qualified, committed and dynamic teachers and staff members who strive for excellence in education. AMPS is spacious, offering a warm, nurturing environment combined with modern day facilities which include smart classes, well-equipped science labs, a maths lab, ICT labs, a fine arts lab, a geography lab, a robotics lab, and a psychology lab. The School has a medical room with a well-qualified, full-time nurse on its premises as well as a school counsellor to attend to our students’ needs.
Our buses are equipped with state-of-the-art GPS and CCTV cameras, covering Gurugram as well as parts of South Delhi and Dwarka. Demonstrating our commitment towards Mother Earth, the Junior wing campus has a beautiful, lush nature park where our young ones regularly learn about the values of sustainable development. The School also runs an after school day boarding programme for the needs of our active working parents.
Among the growing ranks of AMPS alumni, we proudly count engineers, doctors, lawyers, fashion designers, corporate managers, teachers, and entrepreneurs, many of whom pursue higher education from renowned Indian institutions as well as foreign/national universities of repute. Besides academics, AMPSians regularly win prizes at inter-school sports competitions organised at the district, state, national and even international levels.
